A panel featured several groups that support packaging education

With the cosmetic and personal care category growing, there’s always a need for talented employees. A panel at MakeUp in New York featured some of the opportunities that are open to students and personnel who are involved in this dynamic field. Charles Chang, owner of Topline spoke about the Rutgers Packaging Engineering Advisory Board, through which scholarships are available at Rutgers University’s large and established packaging engineering program. Professor Hae Chang Gea spoke about the many educational opportunities at Rutgers, including those for people already involved in the industry. Associate Professor Marianne Klimchuk spoke about packaging design programs at FIT. Mike Warford, national sales manager, ABA Packaging, filled the audience in on annual CIBS scholarships that are available. Al Lustrino, vice president, package development, at Laura Mercier, provided the audience with an industry perspective of what skills employers are looking for in new hires.
